These video and sound works are meditations on perception, photography, time, and space. The pieces in this series address these existential topics in relatively simple ways; such as by framing subject matter (an eye, a rainbow, a clock, the Earth) in the center of the frame, on a solid black or white background, or by gradually zooming in or out. I designed them to be self-contained meditations about what they depict while also being vehicles for open-ended contemplation on the part of the viewer. The audio is meant to evoke intense feelings of both anticipation, awe, apprehension. I wanted to elicit those emotions as they epitomize the mystical and visionary qualities of an art that seeks to transform consciousness.
